How Northstag Studios began
Northstag was founded in Leeds in 2019 by a small team frustrated by the same pattern: UK small businesses spending thousands on websites that looked fine but converted nobody. Agencies were selling templates dressed up as bespoke work.
We decided to do things differently. Every project starts with understanding your customers — not your competitors. We map conversion paths before we design a single page, and we write code that loads fast because every second of delay costs real enquiries.
In 2021 we expanded into author services after noticing how many clients were also publishing books. Today, Northstag is a team of seven specialists working with clients from Edinburgh to Exeter.
